Peter Molyneux from Lionhead Studios recently made the announcement at this years E3 that they have completed the long anticipated Fable II and it will be released this October. This of course was very good news for all the RPG fans that play on the 360. He also included a few new innovations of the game to highlight the release and to get us RPG fans ready for the 3rd game in the Fable series. Just in case you are unaware the first game was Fable and the follow up was Fable: The Lost Chapters, the new one does not come out until October so you have time to go back and play them if you have not already.
The two new features of the game that I am most interested to take advantage of are the dog for one. From all that I have read so far the dog will be trainable and we will actually be able to teach it tricks as well. It will be interesting to see how well they have crafted the AI for the dog and it’s interactions with the player. Supposedly the dog will know when to alert you the master as well as help fend of enemies when it senses that we are in danger. Should be interesting.
The other feature that they were showing at the press conference was the ease of which you can jump right into co-op mode with your friends. These new albion orbs are in the game and all you have to do is press a button to have your buddies enter the game to play along with you, dog not included though. The host players can set some ground rules but basically your friends can jump in at any point in the game to help you along in the story.
Be sure to check out the Lionhead studios website and check out the Tales of Albion which will give you a really good perspective on the back story behind all of the Fable games. Well what do you think of the Fable series are you looking forward to the new Fable II? Where do you think this series rates for you when it comes to the RPG genre?
